How you can help the team

It costs £26,000 per year (£72.00 per day) to maintain the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team. In turn, we provide a voluntary search and rescue service to the local and regional community that is second to none.

• Hosting a Collecting Box - If you own a shop, pub, or other establishment, you could request a team collecting box. We will empty it at regular intervals. Contact: fo@boltonmrt.org.uk.
• Making a financial donation - by writing a cheque, made payable to "Bolton Mountain Rescue Team". Cheque donations should be sent to the address below.

• Sponsoring the teams annual running costs - or part of. Could your company help in these costs? Maybe sponsor the team for a day?
• Holding a sponsored event for the team - we can supply information and display boards - you just donate all profits to the team. Let your mind run wild!
• Sponsoring an equipment purchase - Ask what equipment we need and see if you wish to help us purchase a certain item.
• Join the team as an associate member - Send a cheque for £12 and help support the Team. In return, you may assist at non-operational Team events and participate on occasion as an exercise casualty within our busy training programme.
• Helping with collection days - Either offer to come and help us collect, or ask us to come to your office, factory, supermarket or shopping centre to collect.
• Inviting us to hold a lecture - We can come to your company, or organisation, to conduct a lecture. See below.
• Coming up with any other idea - we are adaptable!

Team Supporter stickers

The team maintains a large stock of "Supporter" stickers suitable for vehicle windows etc.

These stickers are available for general sale at £1.50 each direct from our Secretary via email secretary@boltonmrt.org.uk please remember to include you full postal address in the email. Stickers are also currently available from Campcraft, Newport St, Bolton (Tel: 01204 524504), and will also be available from other sales points in the near future.

There is an informal "competition" on where our Supporter stickers can be spotted, if you wish to submit a picture of one of our stickers in a unique situation, then send your picture to secretary@boltonmrt.org.uk, e.g.:

Lectures

The team is willing to invite your organisation, group or society, to our Ladybridge Hall Base HQ to provide an insight into the workings of the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team including equipment and vehicle demonstrations. Limited opportunities also exist for an informal "hands on" exercise (Wednesday evenings excepted). We can also provide after dinner speakers at the venue of your event, be it a 5 minute or 30 minute slot!

Our base HQ presentation lasts for 1 ½ - 2 hours, but shorter presentations can be arranged. "Hands-on" lectures are especially popular with youth organisations and the younger end of our supporters.

A donation for such presentations and lectures is always gratefully accepted but is not expected (kindness and support of the team come in many ways other than money).
