At 23:14 Lancashire Ambulance Service requested our assistance with a medical emergency at a farm in Edgworth. The track to the farm was covered in sheet ice and the crew knew that without 4WD they would be unable to depart – weather conditions were freezing. One of our landrovers was used to transport the seriously ill casualty to A&E whilst another was used to tow out the stuck land ambulance. Team members finally got some sleep at about 3AM!
