Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

19th June 2002

This evening, ten team members visited the BAE Systems military aircraft factory at Warton, Lancashire, for what has now become a regular feature of the teams training programme, namely the hazards involved in military fast jet aircraft crashes.
Slide shows and safety briefings culminated in a tour of the flight test sheds. Unfortunately no one got a chance to sit in a Tornado this time, but team member Stephanie Holt did get strapped into a static test example of a Martin Baker Ejection Seat. Our thanks are extended to all the staff at BAE Systems, who made our trip entertaining and informative, particularly Station Fire Officer Bob Stout.
