Incident 62/2002

17 members responded to another call to help the CSI with the remains. This was now being treated as a potential criminal investigation. Through out the day, until being stood down at 14:15, members help the Police with access to the crime scene due to its difficult and dangerous access problems. Team equipment was used to shelter the crime scene from the usual July Manchester weather, yes it rained. Later on in the evening 4 members returned to erect lighting for the CSI to carry on with their investigations. The team were exposed to the media during this investigation and we were granted valuable airtime on both Granada TV & BBC TV Local news, resulting in interviews with our Deputy Team Leader Geoff Seddon on TV and Team Leader Garry Rhodes on the local radio.

Garry Rhodes, Team Leader, discusses the next stage of the recovery with GMP.
