At 05:20 Hrs in the morning Greater Manchester Police contacted the Team for assistance regarding a missing 32 year old man, in the Top Lock area of Wigan. Search Parties commenced searching at 06.30. The search had a sad outcome with the discovery of a man’s body at 08:30 by Bolton MRT Search Dog handler Dave Marsh, his Search Dog Chi and navigator and team member Eddy Crossley. The team remained on scene to assist the Crime Scene Investigators and then stretcher evacuated the body to the nearest roadhead. The search area was in dense woodland, on a reclaimed coal tip. This was the second successful find by Dave & Chi in less than a month [albeit very sad on this occasion]. 19 Team members were involved, standing down at 12.15.
