Whilst we were engaged in our Rope Rescue Training we received a call from LAS, requesting assistance at an R.T.A. involving a motorcycle and a car. As is the case on incidents like this we are often the first to arrive on scene, followed by the Land & Air ambulances, so we have to asses the incident, provide casualty care and then hand over to the appropriate ambulance when they arrive. The passenger on the motorcycle was airlift by Helimed 08 to Royal Preston Hospital and the driver by land ambulance. The occupants of the car were unhurt. We then returned to our RRT and carried on with the days plan.
