Over the weekend of the 11th to the 13th October, 17 Team members, inclusive of 3 instructors, undertook a joint Foundation Course in Mountain Rescue for new Team members, with Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team, who also provided instructors and students on the course.
The course was based at the excellent accommodation of Barley Hall, Barley in the footings of Pendle Hill. Additional instructional help & exercise casualties were provided by our colleagues in Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team.
We didn’t hold a course last year hence the large number of students this year. The course is intended for new members in both Teams in their first 12 months of membership and gives an approved MPSRO basic training approach in Mountain Rescue theory, techniques & equipment use.
The Team is grateful to Paul Heywood [Training Officer of RPMRT] who organised and co-ordinated this successful course.
If you want to know what happened on the Friday & Saturday evening social, then attend our Team Dinner next year to find our more !!!!!!
