The early hours of New Year’s day morning saw the team (along with colleagues from the Oldham MRT and SJAB) providing its usual assistance to
GMAS, with the provision of crews and mountain rescue vehicles to directly backup the stretched resources of GMAS, over the very busy New Year’s
Eve/early hours of New Year’s Day period. The team dealt with 12 calls (alongside putting vehicles on standby in Bury and Wigan town centres, at the
stroke of midnight). Our first call came in shortly after 00:30, with all calls being completed by 05:30. The calls dealt with varied from drug overdoses, drunkenness, slips and falls, a minor fracture, angina and asthma attacks, and an RTA.
