Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

1st May 2003

Early May sees us ever closer to the deadline given to us to vacate our Base / HQ at Overdale, as the developers are set to move in. With the double blow of the closure in late summer this year of the CMB factory at Westhoughton, where most of our vehicles and trailers are stored, (one Landrover space is available at Overdale), the team effectively becomes homeless very soon. All attempts to buy, beg, steal! or borrow premises have failed, which is where both Greater Manchester County Fire Service and Greater Manchester Ambulance Service have both stepped in, to offer what help they can with our vehicle accommodation and training space needs. A lots happening very fast at the moment in this direction, but not a lot can be said or intimated publicly yet ! When we can report something positive we will, meanwhile keep your collective figures crossed for us.
