Incident 51/2003

At 17:18, barely 20 minutes after we’d been officially stood down from incident 50/2003 (team vehicles were still located in Little Lever), Greater Manchester Ambulance Service paged us, quickly followed by a page from Greater Manchester Fire Service, regarding the same incident. Both agencies had decided to call us out to assist with the extrication of a child had fallen down an embankment just off Tonge Moor Road, in the north of Bolton. We made an immediate response – however we were stood down 13 minutes into our response as it was discovered that the Fire Service had been able to fetch the child up the slope using their own kit.
