Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

23rd July 2003

Our usual training night, we held an exercise on Cutacre Tip. Now this evening was a completely damp night, well in actual fact it was a wash out. The evening consisted of a steep ground rescue exercise, this exercise was based on a woman and two children going out for a walk and landing in some difficulty. After one of the children was found we received information that India 99 (GMP Helicopter) was available to help with the search. Now all things involving an exercise and a helicopter go straight out of the window and on this occasion just when the main casualty site had been found India 99 dropped in to say hello.

India 99 and our new trainees. This gave our new trainees a chance to see how we work alongside the Police helicopter. Also the two exercise casualties get to have a play with a big Corgi model !!!

So our new trainees got to see how the helicopter operates and how we can fit a casualty into the aircraft. Our thanks go to GMP Air Support unit and in particular the crew on duty that night for another excellent joint exercise.
