12 members of Horwich Cycling Club and 12 members of Horwich RMI Harriers and Athletics Club, met at the Asda store Middlebrook to compete in a cycling event with a difference. Both teams were riding exercise bikes kindly loaned by Esporta Fitness for an event to help raise funds for the Team and the Guide Dogs for the Blind, all as part of the build up to the Horwich Carnival week. ( which in itself, culminates in the Horwich Carnival Races on June 20th ) There was also a raffle during the event, of which the first prize was an excellent mountain bike. Councillor Barbara Ronson was on hand to lend her support and to shake a collection bucket. The Bolton Evening News was present to take pictures, ( once again featuring our Fundraising Officer Mark Dooley, who is getting in the newspapers nowadays even more than our Team Leader – Webmaster )
Thanks onceagain from the Team to Gareth Hughes of Horwich RMI Harriers and Athletics Club, for their continued support of both ourselves and the GDBA.
