Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

17th June 2004

Well the nice weather from Tuesdays event was replaced by the cold evening, which was cloudy and breezy, of this event. Again organised by Horwich RMI Harriers and Athletics Club, 26 team members were on hand, at hillside checkpoints and ” Spot Pick Up crews “, to provide Standby Rescue Cover for the 170 runners taking part. (Again, all passed without our being involved in any incidents). This event marked a very special occasion for long serving, very fit team member and Fell Runner, Peter Ellwood. His participation as a runner, marked the last time he was taking place in a local run, prior to leaving the area shortly, (and the team) to go and live in the Yorkshire Dales.
