Our Radio Communications officer, Dave Healey, received a pleasant surprise through his letter box this morning of 3 Motorola HT-800 charger modules for the Teams Ambulance Radios from Advanced Charger Technology. The HT800 is an old technology radio which uses NiCads, unlike the new Hi Band which use NiMh batteries. The problems with NiCads is that they soon get a memory effect and don’t charge properly. The ACT chargers ’make batteries better’ and we should be able to get the HT800 batteries back up to full strength again with these chargers. Our special thanks to Luca Fiore at ACT Ltd.
