Tuesday 20th July 2004 saw the Team honoured when Team member and Chairman Tony McNally was invited to represent the Team at a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham palace.
Tony received his invitation to represent the Team from the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Colonel Sir John Timmins KCUO., OBE., and the Lord Chamberlain.
The events are held on a limited basis by Her Majesty and the Royal Family to acknowledge the contribution such organisations as the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team make to their local and wider communities.
Some 8,000 guests enjoyed the Palace Grounds whilst being entertained by two military bands.
Her Majesty The Queen, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, HRH, Prince Charles and HRH Prince Edward spoke with many of the guests.
The Team is honoured that it should be recognised in this manner, and to Tony’s complete surprise he met with ex Team member Debbie Heyes, who wished to be remembered to Team members and invites us to her forthcoming wedding in October 2004.
