Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

8th August 2004

Whilst in the team area, our BM2 landrover mountain rescue ambulance was called to a serious moorland RTA on the A675, just beyond Belmont, by passing motorists. Our vehicle arrived on scene, immediately followed by LAS and GMAS vehicles. A seriously injured motorcyclist with multiple fractures was airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital by the NWAA Helimed 08. Another motorcyclist with a dislocated shoulder was taken by LAS to Royal Blackburn Hospital. The main road between Belmont Village and Abbey Village was subsequently closed by Lancashire Police for accident investigation purposes (the actual incident location was in the vicinity of Old Mans Hill)
