The team was contacted by LAS to respond to yet another RTA this afternoon, this time at yet another common location for these types of accidents, Sheephouse Lane, on the Rivington to Belmont road. A motorcyclist had collided with a car (whose occupants where uninjured). The 37 year old male motorcyclist suffered a serious leg injury and was taken by a GMAS vehicle to the Royal Bolton Hospital. Again, on scene was a large presence from Lancashire Constabulary, GMAS, and four Bolton MRT vehicles. The Rivington to Belmont road was closed for a period of time, with the team assisting the police, for accident investigation purposes. This is the 8th specific road traffic accident (exclusive of 3 off-road motorcycle accidents) that the team has attended so far this year – all except 1 have involved motorcyclists.
GMAS and LAS paramedics work on the casualty at Sheephouse Lane, Rivington.
