Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

14th August 2004

Today the Team had organised and prepared itself for a big presence including all our vehicles on show, for our annual Bolton Town Centre fundraising all-day collection. This event has raised, in the past, anything between £450 and £850 (depending on the weather), and we had high hopes of raising £1000 today. However, the Team exists to provide a search & rescue service whenever required, and when we got the call to continue the search at Dunham Massey (see incidents 63-64/2004), all our membership had no hesitation in responding to this search, and as a result our collection day was immediately cancelled. We apologize to any of our supporters who may have arranged to travel into Bolton to see the team members, equipment and vehicles, but we are sure they will all understand our reason for cancellation.
