Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

21st August 2004

7 Team members and 2 of our Mountain Rescue Landrover ambulances, (the other 2 were at the Darwen Gala on the same day), attended the fun-day at Bolton Central Fire Station, to assist GMFRS raise funds for the 20-20 Vision charity, and the Fire Service Benevolent Fund. As with Darwen Gala, thankfully the heavy rain of the previous week was replaced today by glorious sunshine, which resulted in a large number of people visiting the Fire Station, and seeing not only the fire appliances on display, but also our vehicles. (The Fire Service had a ducking stool in operation, any thoughts of our Team Leader being put to a similar fate is entirely a fabrication, however our Team Treasurer is always keen for new ideas to raise money – see his May haircut stunt!)
