Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

22nd August 2004

Just to show you how the skills you gain in the team can be important in everyday life, husband and wife, and also Team members, Jonathon & Stephanie Holt, whilst holidaying in Dorset chanced upon a two vehicle RTA on an unclassified road between Lulworth and Corfe Castle. They offered their services to the occupants of the first car, two elderly ladies who were unhurt and also to the occupant of the other car, which was a 19 year old female. Although she had been wearing a seatbelt, she had still managed to hit her head on the steering wheel. They assisted the Doctor & Paramedic from the Air Ambulance (Helimed 10 for all you anoraks out there), and the MOD Police to place the girl onto a spineboard, and then into the Air Ambulance for onward travel to hospital.

The casualties’ mother was on scene and expressed her thanks to the Holts for their help and also expressed her gratitude for the Mountain Rescuers coming to her daughter’s aid. Together with the Air Ambulance crew, Dorset Ambulance Service, Dorset Police & MOD Police were also present.
