Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

8th October 2004

Being a voluntary group, our membership is made up of men and women from many diverse occupations as well as ages! We range from a Postman to builders, a plumber to engineers, as well as a number of members in the IT world (and enough teachers and lecturers to fill a small school).

What is perhaps not realised, is the number of active team members we have on our “Call Out List” who themselves work, or have worked, full time in the Emergency Services. Currently we have a GMAS Paramedic Technician, two A&E Nurses, a trainee General Nurse, two GMP Police Constables and a recently qualified GMFRS Firefighter.

We also have a civilian employee in GMP, who has worked in the Area Control Rooms, and a member who is a Forensic Toxicologist.
On the “retired” side, we have a member who was with the NCB (as was) Mines Rescue Service; a retired GMP Police Inspector and a retired GMAS Ambulance Technician.

So it can be seen that we can bring many skills to the fore when we deploy as a team. For a full list of team members and their occupations, please visit the membership area of our website (we also have in the team a Church Minister, so births, deaths and marriages are also catered for, and for anybody who requires the use of a porter at Royal Bolton Hospital, we even have that covered with a long serving, now ex-team member who works at the hospital!)
