Whilst at the base, we were alerted by sounds coming from Chorley Road outside our base. This was a German Shepherd dog that had been involved in a hit and run with a car. The driver had briefly stopped at the scene before driving off, leaving the dog an 18 month old bitch with a fractured right femur. Luckily one of the team members on duty was a Vet and was able to provide immediate treatment to the animal and arrange for Pet Medics to retrieve the animal and take it to a local animal hospital.
