Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

13th January 2005

The team’s Search dog handler, Dave Marsh and his dog Chi journeyed up to Derwentwater Youth Hostel, Keswick to assist in SARDA England’s annual assessments over the weekend of the 13th – 16th January.

Here follows Dave’s report of the event:

Over 70 people attended in the form of guest assessors, assessors from SARDA England and of course the all important “bodies” on whom a lot of responsibility and appreciation is placed.

Over the 3 day course 6 people were assessed working their dogs through 6 areas of up to 2 hours duration in time.

I am pleased to announce that the following gained Novice Grade enabling them to be called out.

  • Ian Bunting from the Peak District

Upgraded to Full Search Dog Status were awarded to:

  • Brian Allport – North East Search & Rescue
  • Ian Thompson – North East Search & Rescue
  • Dave Humphreys – Exmoor Mountain Rescue Team
  • Dave Herbert – Mid Pennine Search & Rescue Organisation
  • Simon Adams – Mid Pennine Search & Rescue Organisation
