Inaugural meeting of Support Group

This evening, at our Ladybridge Hall Base, we held the inaugural meeting of what we hope will become a support group for the team. Out of the enquiries we have received so far, 4 interested persons were able to attend the evening and met with our Team Fundraising Officer, Mark Dooley, and our Team Leader Garry Rhodes, with catering supplied by our Catering Officer Chris Tennant. Being the first meeting there was a lot of discussion and ideas tabled with Mark giving an insight into the current fundraising activities of the team and Garry giving an insight into team operations.

We will announce the next meeting of the Support Group by personal contact with those who have expressed a wish in joining and also will announce the meeting via our website. We envisage the Support Group will have many roles including assisting us on collection days, and with our various collection appeals, as well as a multitude of non-operational tasks associated with both our base locations at Ladybridge & Bolton Central Fire Station, and the day-to-day running of the team, providing direct assistance to our very busy operational members. A big thanks to Mark Dooley, our Fundraising Officer, for the considerable amount of hard work that he has put into the thinking behind a support group.
