At 20:04 Hrs GMFRS Control contacted our Team Leader directly, regards a Pre Determined Attendance Fire call to a person reported to have fallen down an embankment. Once the location, which was a disused railway line in an urban setting, had been established, a full Team page was made at 20.11 Hrs. An immediate response was made including Team members who lived close by the location, when news came from GMFRS Control that our assistance was not required on site, nor was there a requirement for other responding fire appliances (as part of the Rope Access PDA).
We understand an 83 year old gentleman was reported to have fallen down into the disused railyway line cutting and was assisted back to the top by crews from the two initial arriving fire appliances. The gentleman concerned did not require treatment and the GMAS crew on scene was also stood down.
