At 16:20, whilst driving through the area today, we were flagged down by a member of the public to assist at a motorcycle incident. A pillion passenger had been thrown approx 10m when the motorcycle he was riding on left the road, on Rivington Road, near Rivington.
The casualty was treated on scene by our members who applied a neck collar and placed the casualty onto a long board. We handed over to the Lancashire Ambulance Service crew who arrived on scene shortly afterwards. Helimed 08 was also called to this incident, but was redirected to another incident some distance away.
Lancashire Constabulary also attended and took over from other team members who were controlling the flow of traffic around the incident. In total, 8 team members assisted at this incident which was concluded at 17:20.
