Early this morning 12 team members and three team vehicles were committed to providing standby rescue cover for the annual Darwen Biathlon, renamed this year the Darwen Aquathon.

50 competitors took part in the fell race section which we covered, following their part in the swimming event. The fell race event from Darwen to Tockholes and return took place in minus temperatures with hard, frozen and icy ground but excellent conditions of visibility.

The team is pleased to lend its support to this annual event organised by the Darwen Dashers swimming club.
