Many years ago we rescued a young woman at Rivington who had broken her back in a winter sledging accident. The woman involved was Deborah Garlick and, with her husband John, she went on (after a full recovery we might add) to become a valued supporter of the team. Over the years they have both raised funds and made many donations to us, for which we are always extremely grateful.

Today we received a Christmas card from them – and they very kindly enclosed a donation of £20.00 with, as ever, kind comments and thanks.

So thanks once again to Deborah (and John) and do continue to be careful if it snows and the old sledge comes out!
