On Sunday 22nd January this year, our team, along with our colleagues in Bowland Pennine MRT, and resources from Lancashire Constabulary, were involved in the search for a missing 72 year old Chorley woman.
We were joined on the search by family members, and the lady concerned was found safe and well way outside the search areas, having walked to Southport in a confused state.
Today we were extremely surprised to receive a very kind Thank You card expressing the thankfulness of the woman’s family to the team for our efforts on the day. Furthermore the card contained a very generous and unexpected £300.00 donation to the team.
The card contained kind comments as to our dedication, skill and professionalism, and also commented on our sensitivity and kindness shown to the family throughout the search. The family also thanked us for the magnificent work we do as volunteers, adding that we are “truly amazing people”.
We are always grateful to receive kind thoughts of this nature, and we are always surprised at the kind support people who come across us show to the team. The family expressed similar comments to our colleagues at Bowland Pennine MRT, as well as kindly donating the same amount to their team.
