8 team members in 2 team vehicles travelled today to the annual Darwen Gala, which takes place in Jubilee Park, Darwen, this same time every year, attracting many charities, side-shows and special events including the Gala procession.

Unfortunately this year the event was marred by persistent heavy rain and generally cold conditions. Nontheless, there was the usual high interest in the team despite our not being able to display equipment due to the heavy rain. We collected £2 in loose change at the event, but also received a very generous £50 donation from the Darwen Gala committee, which has supported the team on a very regular and long-standing basis for which we are very grateful.
