Donation arising from Horwich Carnival Races
On Sunday June 18th the team provided all day standby rescue cover for the Horwich Carnival Races event, entailing road race and road cycling events around the town centre of Horwich, which was closed for the day. (see entry for #article#1329#Sunday 18th June 2006#)
Today we received an extremely generous donation of £500.00 from the Horwich Carnival Races Committee for our help on the day.
The Carnival Committee, representing Horwich Cycling Club and Horwich RMI Harriers and Athletics Club, joint organisers of this fantastic event, commented in a letter of thanks to the team, “thanks for the superb cover your team provided for this year’s races. Your team members were, as always, highly professional and invaluable on the day.”
The team welcomes the opportunity to be involved in this local event (which draws in national running and cycling athletes to the many races staged on the day), and will be fully supporting the 2007 event on June 24th next year, as well as supporting two other events associated with the races held the week before.
