Wedding congratulations to founder Team Member, Alan James
Well the lady finally got her man !
Congratulations today on the marriage of founder team member Alan ’ the General ’ James to Di Donald, at a Civil Ceremony at Worsley Court House, Worsley village, Salford, held at 2pm.
Alan, better known as ’ General ’ (the General actually) was one of our founder team members way back when the team formed in 1968, and incredidbly he’s still on the call out list as an operational member 39 years later ! (and still attends every Wednesday nights training exercise as well as call Outs)
Di Donald herself is an ex team member, having been in the team in the mid 1980s, and is of course a regular supporter of team activities along with her partner Alan James. Bestman at their wedding was none other than our Deputy Leader and life long friend of Alan James, Geoff Seddon. ( they both go back a long way, Geoff having joined the team in 1969 and still mockingly referred to by General as ’the youth’
The newly wed couple went on to hold an excellent Ceilidh and buffet at the Worsley Courthouse during this evening, before departing for a honeymoon in Galway, Ireland. (will General be taking his penny whistles along to join in the Irish craic ?)
