This evening the team provided standby rescue cover for the Lever Park Run.
This annual event is organised by the Horwich RMI Harriers & Athletics Club and constitutes a part of the annual Horwich Carnival Races.
103 runners took part in a two lap circuit covering the more remote track network in Lever Park and Roynton Lane through the Terraced Gardens at Rivington.
With milder temperatures and full cloud cover combined with dry surfaces made the running conditions ideal for the event.
Two competitors retired from the event, with one other competitor requiring treatment for asthmatic symptoms (gamely continuing to complete the course after treatment for his condition).
In total, 28 team members provided standby rescue cover for this event, operating out of our Mountain Rescue control trailer at the Knowle House car park, Rivington. Our 4 Landrover ambulance vehicles were based at strategic points around the course in case of any incident.
