At some point over the last weekend our visitor counter, which has been running since the previous version of our website went live on the 31st October 2001, passed the rather massive 500,000 mark.
Owing to the rather basic techniques employed on this particular counter, the number of visitors reported is likely to be greater than the number of total visits to the site – in fact from a technical perspective it’s quite safe to say that there’s no real way to get a definitive count of the number of people visiting a particular website.
Nevertheless, readers might be interested to learn that our data gathered from November 2006 onwards (courtesy of Google Analytics) informs us that we have had 55,000 visits to our website, from a total of 22,500 unique visitors – an average of 92 visits per day.
60% of our visitors have returned to find out more about us, and in fact over 4,000 of you have looked at our website on more than 200 occassions – we certainly have some dedicated readers out there!
Our continued thanks must go to Netnorth Limited of Bolton, who have steadfastly supported us by hosting our website and email accounts on their systems since October 2001.
