Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

25th June 2008

As part of a special feature article for the August 2008 issue of Lancashire Life magazine on Bolton, Lancashire Life approached the team recently to request our assistance with a specific article on the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, coinciding with the start of our 40th Anniversary Year in October 2008 and the 2008 75th Anniversary Year of Mountain Rescue in the United Kingdom.

This evening Lancashire Life magazine reporter Emma Mayoh and photographer John Cocks visited the team at our Ladybridge Hall, Bolton base/HQ and conducted a series of interviews and a photoshoot.

Our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE described the teams current role and history to Emma, with much input from Geoff Seddon, current Deputy Leader and call out list member since 1969, and Alan ’General’ James, current call out list member and one of our original founder members in September 1968.

So Lancashire Life magazine can look forward to a surge in sales for its August 2008 issue, as team members and no doubt their mums and dads!, all rush out to secure their copies.
