Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

17th August 2008

Today the team welcomed 5 interested persons (of 6 expected to attend) to take part in a hands-on introduction to the team, with a view to filling a few gaps in the team membership.

The day included a brief tour of the equipment carried on the Team Landrover Ambulances, a navigation theory test, followed by a day out on the hill comprising a practical navigation test, a basic stretcher handling exercise, and then finally a steep ground stretcher evacuation exercise.

By the end of the day, 3 of the 5 persons remained – the other two having decided that their hill navigation skills might require further practice prior to joining the team.

The three remaining persons have been invited to join the team as probationary members, their initial training commencing on the team’s next regular weekly exercise of the 20th August.
