Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

12th October 2008

Today team members presented a team vehicle and equipment demonstration at the “Dig It” Queens Park, Bolton event, in celebration of Queens Park gaining a Heritage Lottery Grant to enable its full restoration.

At various points in the day our BM4 Landrover Mountain Rescue Ambulance was present, joined later by “BM5”, the Hummer H3 Mountain Rescue vehicle (which yet again resulted in considerable interest in the team from members of the public, and colleagues of the other emergency services present at this event.

Fortunately the sun shone today leading to large crowds attending the event with many on hand to witness the departure of our BM4 vehicle to incident 103/2008.

In total 5 team members in BM4 attended this event, 3 team members in the Hummer, joined by 3 other team members who called in to help out.

A guest from the team’s past visited in the guise of Michael Hope-Ainscough, one of our founding members and the team’s first Controller.

Other attractions at this event included the GMFRS Pinzgauer from Bolton North fire station, a pump appliance from Bolton Central, Greater Manchester Police vehicles, a climbing wall, Bolton Pipe Band, face painting, bouncy castle and food stalls.
