The Mountain Rescue ‘Hummer’ goes to Manchester

Today the Hummer on loan with the team visited Coop Logistics and great interest was shown by all the staff. Fred Taylor explained the reason behind the loan of the Mountain Rescue General Motors Hummer in the 75th year of Mountain Rescue and the kind gesture of the offer.

The second visit of the day was to The Manchester Climbing Centre, John the owner and Andy one of his faithful staff (as you can see by the photo’s) were very impressed. Some of the photo’s of the hummer will appear on the Manchester Climbing Centres web site.

The next visit was to Bauer Millett Hummer Dealer in Manchester, where other very nice machinery in the way of bigger Hummers, those Porchey things and other powerful very elegant cars. The team received a very warm welcome by the staff and Ian, one of the top salesmen, was volunteered to have his picture taken with the Mountain Rescue Hummer.

The last call of the day was to the Ellis Brigham shop in Castlefield in Manchester again a warm welcome was given by the staff, who posed for a picture.

All people visited today were impressed by the generosity of General Motors in providing the Hummer in this the 75th Anniversary Year of Mountain Rescue.
