Bank holidays may mean time off for many, but for our crew it can mean even more call outs. On Sunday alone, we attended 11 missions! Here's one of the many we attended, in @TheBoltonNews, all thanks to your support. A huge thank you to @BoltonMRT too! bit.ly/2GwNjqm

Huge thank you to everyone who donated or entered our competition today. We raised just over £540, which is just amazing! All mountain rescue teams are run by volunteers and all the money to keep our teams running has to be raised. We truly appreciate you supporting us. Thanks
Wow there’s so many of you up at Rivington Pike! This is the place to be!!! We’ll be here up until four so pop up and see us. pic.twitter.com/Ihfh9ffx9G
Some of our team are based at Rivington Top Barn. We are on duty for the traditional Good Friday walk up Rivington Pike. It’s getting very busy even if a little damp. We are teaching some of our young visitors CPR. pic.twitter.com/v5Kuq2prFx

Incident 23/2009
As team members were at our Ladybridge Hall base / HQ at the conclusion of our involvement in the ’Muddy March Hare’ events, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE was contacted directly by NWAS (Manchester) Control at circa 12.32hrs, requesting the teams assistance at an off road quad bike incident.
The incident location was one well known to the team, the large open land area off Liverpool Road, Eccles, opposite Manchester City Airport (Barton as was)
Our Four Landrover Mountain Rescue Ambulances were able to make an immediate response, with 16x team members in total directly involved in the response.
The NWAA Helimed 08 was unavailable as it was already on another tasking, so NWAS (Manchester) called upon the services of the GMP Air Support Unit helicopter India 99 (based almost opposite the incident location on the edge of Manchester City Airport)
The GMP ASU helicopter ’India 99’ which has a secondary aeromedical evacuation capability was able to land near to the injured female quad biker, and airlift her to the nearby NWAS Emergency Ambulance.
With this our team vehicles which were now barely minutes away from the incident RVP were stood down by NWAS (Manchester) at 12.50hrs.
