Superheroes?
At the beginning of April we were approached by Greg Wood who had been invited to a fancy dress party with a theme of Superheroes. He wanted to avoid the usual Spiderman and Superman costumes, and hit on the idea of going as a representative of Bolton Mountain Rescue Team who, in his words, “certainly merit the term heroes”. We provided him with some appropriate material, including a collecting tin, which he requested, to hang around his neck and seek donations from other partygoers.
The outfit was a success and made quite an impression on other revellers – one lady kept putting money in the tin every time Greg passed her with the explanation that her husband is not a careful walker and will, inevitably, one day need the services of a Mountain Rescue Team!

Although most revellers had very little money with them, when the hangover cleared after the party, Greg was able to donate the sum of £23.32 to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team. Thank you, Greg, for coming up with a novel way of raising awareness of Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, whilst also raising money and having fun at the same time.
