Late this afternoon until early evening our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE hosted a visit by two representatives of Bury Lions Club at our Ladybridge Hall Base/HQ.
Scott Richardson came in the guise of the Bury Carnival Chairperson and Activities Officer, joined by his colleague from Bury Lions Club, Malcolm Evans.
Their meeting was to discuss the participation of the Bolton MRT in Bury Carnival which is scheduled for Saturday 12th June 2010, we were also invited to take part in the Carnival procession on the same day.
The area of Bury, on an approximate West/East split, is covered operationally by our team and our close colleagues at Rossendale & Pendle MRT. Our Team Leader Garry Rhodes therefore suggested that the involvement of Rossendale & Pendle MRT would also be appropriate (in a quick phonecall to RPMRT Team Leader Andy Simpson during Garry’s meeting with Bury Lions, the participation of Rossendale & Pendle MRT was also confirmed).
Both rescue teams will be in the Bury Carnival “999” Emergency Services area, with participation confirmed from Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service, Greater Manchester Police, and North West Ambulance Service.
At the conclusion of the Bury Lion’s Club meeting with our Team Leader, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes accepted on behalf of the team a pennant flag from the Lion’s Club of Bury.
