Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

17th February 2010

Our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE recently answered an email from Gerry Lunn of Halliwell, Bolton, who is the Charity Chairman for the South Lancashire Section of the Caravan Club.

Gerry had contacted the team to request some information on what the team is all about with a possible view to the SLCC making the team their Charity of the Year.

In a telephone reply, followed by an email and posting off a team information pack to Gerry Lunn, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes ensured Gerry had all the information he required on the team to present to his Charity Committee for their consideration.

This evening Gerry contacted our Team Leader Garry, with the excellent news that the South Lancashire Section of the Caravan Club has very kindly decided to make us their Charity of the Year 2010 / 2011.

As such members of the SLCC will be visiting our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ on the evening of Thursday 4th March 2010, to see first hand what the team is all about.

On Sunday 6th June 2010, team members along with a team vehicle, have been invited to attend the SLCC weekend meeting at the Longridge (Preston) Show Ground, where the South Lancashire Section of the Caravan Club will formally announce the start of their Charity Year supporting the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.

Gerry reported this evening to Garry our Team Leader, that such is the interest in the Bolton MRT by SLCC members that in advance of the June official start to their fundraising for us, they have already raised £100.00 for the Bolton MRT.
The whole team membership would like to express its thanks to Gerry Lunn and the members of the South Lancashire Caravan Club for their kindness in agreeing to support us over the next year.

(Previous beneficiaries of the kindness of the members of SLCC have included The North West Air Ambulance, St Anns Hospice (Little Hulton, Manchester) COG Childrens Opportunity Group of Bolton, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and Wigan Hospice)
