Letter of thanks and donation from Greater Manchester Police regards Incident 47-Wednesday 24th February 2010
Today we were very pleased to receive a kind letter of thanks from Chief Superintendent Russ Jackson, Greater Manchester Police, Divisional Commander Manchester Metropolitan Division.
In his letter addressed to our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, Chief Superintendent Russ Jackson stated;
“I am writing to express my gratitude and appreciation for the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team’s efforts in attempting to locate a missing female on Wednesday 24th February 2010 in the Metropolitan Division area of Knutsford Vale and Crowcroft Park.
As ever, in these circumstances it is heart-warming to hear that 15 volunteers turned out to conduct a search for a vulnerable person in cold temperatures on a weekday morning.
As a well established organisation that is often called upon at short notice to become involved in difficult situations, I am grateful for your continued assistance and support.
I am sure that other members of the public will take some comfort in the knowledge that, should your services be required, you are able to provide such a high standard of service.
As you are aware, the female was located some time after the search, which is a happy end to the event, however this does not detract from the time and effort that your team gave and I hope that you will receive the enclosed donation as a token of our appreciation.”
A very kind £50.00 donation was enclosed with the letter from Chief Superintendent Russ Jackson. (Please note Greater Manchester Police also recently kindly donated £1,500.00 to the Bolton MRT alongside a Ford Transit Minibus)
