Team contacted by NWAS (Greater Manchester) regards threat of heavy snowfall today

This afternoon the team was paged by NWAS (Greater Manchester) Belle Vue Control, along with our colleagues at Rossendale and Pendle MRT and Oldham MRT, regards all the teams availability given the forecast of snowfall in the Greater Manchester area, with at the time heavy snow showers hitting the east Greater Manchester area and parts of Bury.

The threat very quickly receded, with no action needed to be taken by the Bolton MRT, however our colleagues at Rossendale and Pendle MRT placed one of their vehicles on standby at Bury Ambulance Station, (whilst also being operational in the Haslingden, Lancashire, area) and Oldham MRT responding to a moorland RTC on the snow covered Holmfirth road.

NWAS (Greater Manchester) Belle Vue Control maintains very close liaison with the MRTs operating in Greater Manchester, and standby alerts of this nature are commonplace during likely and actual inclement weather periods.

Lets see what happens over the next few days with snow forecasted for our team operational area!
