Call Out in Hawkshaw passed to Rossendale and Pendle MRT
At 12.25hrs today our team was paged by NWAS (Greater Manchester Area) to contact their Control regards an incident requiring MRT assistance, almost at the same time our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE was contacted directly by NWAS (Lancashire) Control regarding an incident in Darwen. (See Incident Report 102 – 2010)
Garry took the details for the Darwen incident, then immediately liaised with NWAS (GMA) Control, and given the nature of the Darwen incident potentially requiring all available Bolton MRT members, advised NWAS (GMA) to contact our colleagues at Rossendale and Pendle MRT to attend this incident in place of the Bolton MRT. (The incident involved gaining access to a farm in the Hawkshaw area where snow covered tracks were giving access difficulties)
During this current period of wintry weather and snowy ground conditions, our colleagues at Rossendale and Pendle MRT have responded on a small number of occasions’ to incidents within the Bolton MRT operational area, with our Team Leader liaising with Andy Simpson, Team Leader of RPMRT (and vice versa) every time to ensure an appropriate and timely response is made to casualties in need of MRT assistance.
