Our thoughts and condolences are with the Royal Family following the sad news of the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Many of our members were inspired to enjoy the outdoors through the DofE Award. The picture shows members meeting the Duke in 1979. pic.twitter.com/SSTC30CcPB
At 4.56pm yesterday we were requested by NWAS to assist with a 22yo male who had fallen at Tiger’s Clough. The team treated him with pain relief & placed a vacuum splint around the injured ankle, then stretchered him to the waiting ambulance. We wish him a speedy recovery. pic.twitter.com/ZEbrt4vaLT
1/2 From all of us at BMRT we would just like to thank every one of you that donated to us this weekend. It was a hard decision for us not to do our usual Easter meet and great around Rivington but for the safety of our team members, we decided against it. pic.twitter.com/xkNOo8equX
It's been a busy start to 2021 for the team. Three months in & we are already on our way to more callouts than we had last year. If you can support us in our work, please feel free to donate via boltonmrt.enthuse.com/#!/ #BoltonMRT #Volunteers #Donate #Rescues #BeenBusy pic.twitter.com/KhDxLT92N8
1/ Today is usually a busy and important day for the team. With so many people visiting the Rivington area in particular, we would usually have our displays set up around the area to help educate people about outdoor safety. pic.twitter.com/0iKNZaqWU1
Thank you to everyone who nominated us for these awards and huge congratulations to Ricky Lomax for winning the Emergency Service Award 🥳 #BoltonNewsLockdownHeroes twitter.com/TheBoltonNews/…

❓ Did you know that moorland and wildfires can be started in a number of ways? Sadly, many are started deliberately, however, some can break out by people being careless with barbecues, campfires or not disposing of cigarettes properly 🔥 pic.twitter.com/WDHdEHFcXA

Yet Another fantastic donation to the team from Krisshan Jade Weedall, ‘Bolton’s youngest busker.’
Last Wednesday we reported that young Krisshan Jade Weedall, who has been described as ’Bolton’s youngest busker,’ visited the team to hand over another very kind donation to the team. At the end of her visit, Krisshan surprised us all, by telling our Team Leader Garry that she wants to raise even more money for the team through her Bolton town centre busking and we advised our readers to keep watching this website for more news.
Well just after our evening training had commenced this evening, Krisshan duly arrived in the company of her mum Alison, being met once again by our Chairman Craig Lamb.
Krisshan then totally surprised Craig, by handing over a fantastic further £40.00 donation, as a result of her busking in Bolton on Saturday 26th March 2011, her second ’busking’ date this year, now spring and warmer weather continues to be upon us.
It may interest our readers to know that we have nominated young Krisshan for a Bolton at Home ’ Stars of the Community’ ’ Young Person of the Year Award.’ (In which we wish her all good luck)
Krisshan, aged eleven, of Plodder Lane, Farnworth, a pupil at Harper Green School, has been described by The Bolton News, as Bolton’s ’Youngest Busker.’ (You can see her singing via the Bolton News website, – video links, and also on You Tube)
Krisshan sings on Newport Street, within Bolton town centre, donating a large part of her ’earnings’ to charity. (Her ’spot’ is between Greggs and Greenhalghs, usually on a Saturday)
Since September 2010, upto date Krisshan has managed to raise the fantastic amount of well over £500.00 for local charities.
Each charity is chosen personally by Krisshan, and so far she has supported the RSPCA, MacMillan Nurses, Kidz 2Gether Horwich (Autistic Children), Bolton Destitute Animal Shelter, Roald-Dahl Foundation for Epileptics, and now Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
The whole team membership extends its fullest thanks to Krisshan for the wonderful support in raising money she has been doing for the team.
