On the evening of Thursday 11th February 2010, the team welcomed to its Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ a visit by Judith Robinson of Worsley Golf Club.

Judith had previously contacted our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, expressing an interest in possibly supporting the team as her Charity of the Year, during her forthcoming year in office as Chair of Worsley (Ladies) Golf Club.

On the evening she was met by our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE and our Chairman in post at the time Ken Oakes, who both outlined the work of the team to Judith.

At the conclusion of her visit, Judith informed Garry and Ken that she had decided to very kindly support the Bolton MRT as her nominated Charity of the Year during her year in office.

This evening at the conclusion of her 2010 / 2011 year in office, Lady Ex Captain Judith Robinson of Worsley Golf Club Ladies Section, invited representatives of the team to the Ladies Section meeting, to present to the team the proceeds of her Lady Captains year.

Our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE attended, in the company of experienced team member Chris Tennant and Trainee Team member Tony Dawson, who had both arrived together in our new Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance ’BM3.’

Judith met all three at the Club House of Worsley Golf Club, in Monton Green, Eccles, and then went on to introduce the three to the evening Ladies Section meeting.

Judith then handed over to Garry, a fantastic total donation of £1,400.00, the proceeds of her chosen Charity during this last year in office.

The Ladies Section of Worsley Golf Club had raised this large sum of money through a Charity Bridge Drive, Charity flower arranging, collections and various and varied charity fundraising events.

Garry was then invited to address the meeting, to outline the work of the team and our role in the local community.

A great deal of interest was shown in the team during our visit, with a great many of the Lady members having a good look over our ’BM3’ vehicle in the car park at the conclusion of the Ladies Section evening meeting.

The whole team membership extends its sincere thanks to Lady Ex Captain Judith Robinson and her Worsley Golf Club Ladies section colleagues for raising this fantastic sum of £1,400.00 for the Bolton MRT.

Their chosen Charity for 2011 / 2012 is Francis House, and we wish them all the best in their support of this charity over this next year.
