Visit to the South Lancashire Section of the Caravan Club Longridge weekend meeting by the team marks the end of their ‘Charity year in Support of Bolton MRT 2010 – 2011.’

Regular readers will be aware that the South Lancashire Section of the Caravan Club have been sponsoring the team as part of their Charity Year 2010-2011 events in support of the team.

Midday today, seven members of the team including full Call Out Members, Brian Brooks and Steve Kenworthy, Trainee Team Members, David Cook, Tony Dawson, Phil Crook and Paul Copley and Training Officer, Elaine Gilliland, all travelled to Longridge Show Ground, Preston, at the kind invitation of the South Lancashire Section of the Caravan Club to be at their final event for the team marking the end of their charity year in support of us.

On arrival at the show ground, the heaven’s opened, but cheered by the arrival of one of our new Land Rover Defender 110’s, Bolton Mobile 1, the children ran across the field to greet us and have a look around and a trip in the vehicle.

Everybody who had joined this weekend’s SLSCC rally had been partaking in lots of different events over the two day weekend event, including a raffle, a colouring competition, guess the number of sweets in a jar, and lots of quizzes to raise funds for us over the weekend.

All congregated in the newly built pavilion and Gerry Lunn of the SLSCC thanked the team for attending the event. Elaine then gave a short speech to thank everyone for their dedication in raising money over the 2010-2011 period and expressed sincere gratitude from the whole team membership for their kind work for the team.

Gerry Lunn then announced that the sum raised for the team over the year was an amazing amount over £4,000:00, including the £900:00 raised on this weekend alone.

The whole team membership wish to express how grateful we are for the hard work and extremely generous donation from the South Lancashire Section of the Caravan Club and wish all the best to all its members.

A presentation evening is now being arranged between the SLSCC and the team in order to officially present us with their very generous and amazing proceeds of their charity year in support of the Bolton MRT.
