Incident 50/2011
With one team vehicle already en-route, and other members about to depart our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ for the visit to the Kings Club, (See above article also dated today) our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, was directly contacted at 12.05hrs by a Greater Manchester Police Missing Person Search Manager, regarding the teams immediate assistance with a developing search for a missing nine year old boy in the Ringley Road area, between Stoneclough and Whitefield.
The young boy had gone missing earlier today, and a search was now being planned of open land areas alongside Ringley Road.
With more information being gathered, the vehicle en-route to the Kings Club recalled, and members already at our Base / HQ getting mapping and catering organised for the impending search, a full team call out was made at 12.28hrs.
Thankfully at 12.39hrs we were stood down with the excellent news that the missing child had been located safe and well by GMP.
In total at the time of stand down, twenty three team members were responding, with all four Team Land Rover Ambulances, our Minibus and Control Trailer all being prepared ready for departure to the intended Search RVP at the La Roma Restaurant area on Ringley Road.
With the successful conclusion to this search, those team members who were going originally to the Kings Club visit, set off once again, albeit a little late!
