Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

1st January 2012

As part of the NWAS (GMA) pre-arranged plan to cope with peak demand calls during the New Year’s celebrations, the Team continued to directly assist NWAS (GMA) with emergency ambulance calls throughout the early hours of New Year’s Day.

12x team members mobilised to crew all four of our Team Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulances which were placed at the disposal of NWAS (GMA), and 3x further team members provided incident control & administration support at our Ladybridge Hall Base/HQ.

In total eight separate incidents were responded to on behalf of NWAS (GMA) some in conjunction with NWAS (GMA) resources.

The team attended one ‘Code Green’ call and seven ‘Code Red’ calls, ranging from intoxication, to falls and fractures.

The locations we were despatched to included Little Hulton, Horwich, Astley Bridge, Egerton and Leigh, with the first call of the morning coming at 01.12hrs and the last call at 04.38hrs.
Following a restocking of vehicle contents, cleaning and cleansing of team kit and a general tidy up, team members finally closed our base at 07:30hrs on New Year’s Day morning.

Yet again we would like to place on record, our grateful thanks to all at NWAS (Greater Manchester Area) Belle Vue Emergency Control Centre for their tremendous support and assistance during the evening. Similar thanks are extended to the NWAS Rapid Response Vehicle Crews & Emergency Ambulance crews which we worked alongside.
